CMS’s current published International Baccalaureate list names its MYP middle schools but does not include Sedgefield Middle. Courses and student support
After confirming eligibility, ask the school for its current course information. Useful questions include the available electives, prerequisites, placement process, language offerings, learning support and how new students are introduced to the school. Request the current documents rather than borrowing details from another CMS campus.
A programme name is not enough to compare schools. Ask how the timetable, assessment, student support and extracurricular schedule would fit your child. School events and activities can change during the year; use the school’s own calendar and staff contacts to establish availability.
Daily logistics and the transition to high school
Confirm school hours, transport eligibility, pickup arrangements and the actual route from home after enrollment is established. A short straight-line distance can still involve road crossings or a longer driving route. Visit the public streets around the campus at the relevant time instead of assuming that neighborhood proximity makes the trip walkable.
High-school assignment should also be verified separately for the address and intended year. Do not assume an automatic feeder school or IB continuation. If considering a choice programme elsewhere, use its current eligibility and application requirements, and distinguish application eligibility from an offered place.
Comparing nearby options
The schools directory is a starting list of campuses, not a ranking or an admissions guarantee. Compare current official programmes, support, logistics and eligibility before comparing impressions. Private, charter, magnet and assigned public-school processes are different; a campus being close to Sedgefield does not establish a place.
